What is SnowExporter?
As you know Snowflake provides a robust solution for storing, managing, and analyzing large datasets in the cloud. But what if you needed to have the analyzed data exported out of Snowflake?
SnowExporter is a custom Snowflake app, that allows end-users to securely export data from Snowflake to external destinations by using the apps intuitive graphics interface. But it isn’t just a regular app. It is an Native app. Why should this matter to you and your company?
Snowflake Native apps allow users to take advantage of innovative, powerful apps WITHOUT having to worry about whether their sensitive data is being adequately protected on their provider’s platform. This is because Snowflake Native Apps are applications that run WITHIN the customer’s own Snowflake account, so there is no need to move or share their data with the app provider, which can help improve data security and governance. Customers can also retain control over what the app can do in their accounts by granting granular permissions.
The external destinations could be an email address or a distribution list, or a supported repository on providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
The exported data be using a custom Snowflake query which can be run on-demand or scheduled to run at different intervals.
The output too, can be controlled as to whether the export is a CSV file or a JSON file
What SnowExporter does?
Allows you to execute complex queries built on your data model in Snowflake and subsequently extract the result set to an external destination. The external destination can be:
– Valid Email Address or Distribution List
– Valid storage destination on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
You can also control time and frequency of exports to the selected target location as well as the file format.

– You can have the result set of your query be compressed

– You can export the result set in CSV or JSON formats. You can also append timestamp to the file name.
